African men foil sex attack on teen

Gardai are to view CCCTV footage in a bid to identify a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in Dublin's city centre who was rescued by two African men.

The men gave the attacker “a few slaps” after they saw him trying to sexually assault a woman in her late teens in the early hours of last Tuesday.

Gardaí are satisfied the man’s intent was to sexually assault the woman but that she was saved by the men.

The incident happened just outside the Screen cinema, near Pearse Street Garda Station, at about 3am. Gardaí said the victim and a female friend had left a nearby nightclub.
