Ex-soldier settles claim of sex assault in army

A former soldier settled his case against the Defence Forces yesterday after alleging he was sexually assaulted by a sergeant major, writes Tim Healy.

The case was taken by Richard McMahon, of Rathvilly Drive, Finglas South, Dublin, against former Sergeant Major Patrick Devereux, of Dun Na Ri Glenabbey Road, Kildare, and against the Minister for Defence, the State and the Attorney General.
