If we are to change the ways in which we as a society respond to sexual abuse and sexual violence then we must bring forward clear, constructive and meaningful perspectives and ideas. One in Four believes that the phenomona of sexual violence and sexual abuse within our society is one that we all have a responsibility to address. We are committed to playing our part and to working with others: individuals, agencies, political parties and Goverment in constructive, appropriate relationship.
The scale of the need for this work is evidenced in the statistics presented in the SAVI Report. With one third of our population affected by sexual violence in their lifetimes and one quarter of all Irish children experiencing sexual abuse in childhood this is one issue our society can no longer afford to ignore.
This section presents some of the campaiging and public awareness work One In Four has undertaken. It includes reports to conferences, submissions to Government and speeches on issues relating to sexual abuse and sexual violence. (under construction).

Freedom of Information Act
New restrictions proposed on the Freedom of Information Act would "silence and suppress" the voices of abuse victims if passed into law. One in Four believed it was crucial for victims to uncover what might be the only supporting evidence about the abuse they suffered while in the care of State institutions. Documentaries
Suing The Pope was first broadcast on BBC TV on Monday 19th March, 2002. Through the testimony of several men and the mother of one suicide victim, this program examines the churchs response to the abuse and trauma caused by Fr Fortune.
Cardinal Secrets was broadcast on RTE on the 17th October 2002.
