Holding Strong

She sits there frozen staring into space,

Locked in her private hell that she alone must face.

The voice inside her head is loudly screaming,

But there's no response cos its not within anybody's hearing.

Oh please release this anguish, just turn the key,

I can't bear this hurt, this pain that nobody can see.

Oh help me find the words my fears and worries to express,

I just can't take anymore, I can't contain this distress.

He sits there silent unable to help,

If only she could tell him what she really felt.

He has no one to turn to for much needed support,

And doesn't know how this mess he can sort.

They sit at the table from where neither can move,

Caught in a trap where life won't improve.

United in sorrow, sadness and desperation,

Yet on separate plains lacking in communication.

Their commitment is firm, their love is deep,

But with outside forces its a fight to keep!

What can they do only continue on,

And hope that the future will find them,

Still holding strong.
