Ballet Teacher May Not Be Tried For Third Sexual Abuse Case

Howard County authorities say they probably won't prosecute a former ballet teacher in a third sexual abuse case involving a student.

County State's Attorney Timothy McCrone says the third case against 43-year-old Jose Macedo will be placed on the inactive docket. If Macedo's two previous convictions are upheld, McCrone says the third case probably won't go to trial.

McCrone says the victim in the third case, now 19, has no objection to the decision.

Macedo was arrested in December 2002 after three female students separately accused him of abuse during private lessons at Advance Dance Academy. He is serving a total of 12 years in prison for his two convictions.
