Escaped prisoner charged with sexual abuse

SPENCER, Iowa A prisoner arrested after not returning from a two-day furlough from the Clay County jail in Spencer is facing more legal problems.

Twenty-two-year-old Bobby Beckman of Spencer was arrested earlier this month in Montana after officials say he failed to return from the furlough and tried to cross the border into Canada.

Beckman was being held in Clay County on sexual abuse charges.   Spencer police say Beckman faces three additional charges of sexual abuse.   Authorities say the most recent charges stem from incidents with two male teenagers. No further details are available at this time.   Beckman was arrested August 13th for allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy on at least two occasions.

Beckman is being held in the Clay County jail.
