"There was a Little Girl" By Lisa

There was a little girl whose world was shattered.
She tried to go on as if nothing was the matter.

Keeping those memories at a safe distance
Was the only way to survive her existence.

She never realized what those memories were doing.
Trapped on the inside, her soul they were stealing.

The wall she had built had stayed strong for so long,
but a flood of memories began pushing it along.

The wall has now crumbled unleashing a torrent.
She hangs on by a thread amidst all the torment

She found the strength to survive those painful years.
Now she must find the courage to conquer her fears.

Her journey will force her to look deep inside
And free the little girl she always had to hide.

There is no one who can show her the way.
But love and patience will help her each day.

The person that she becomes will truly be free.
Free to accept who she is now and who she will be.
