Children of the night

Children of the night, lost and alone, despondent and burdened with grief
Secretly, they hope that someone will ease their bitter strife...
And allay the pain and torment found in this miserable existence...

They huddle close to the fire...Desperately trying to warm and subdue the cold and lonely desolation that seeps into their souls unnoticed as darkness falls, and the streets become alive.

They try to hold on...their grave and ashen faces devoid of laughter.
Pretending that the pain is not real...It is strange, that tears cannot fall,
yet somewhere, deep within...a soul screams in silence. Weary hearts, battered and burdened soon become stoic and hard. High impenetrable walls are raised. Hope and trust diminish as a shrewd, and calculating demeanour is born.

The lost children, tired and weary, beaten down. Helpless and vulnerable, keeping their dreams well hidden...wanting more....looking for love and redemption, so scared and unwilling, to bridge the gap, that leads to their salvation...
