Hand in Hand

My aimless soul searched to fill,
The void you left behind,
I had the answers all along,
But I chose to be blind.
The easing of the ripped out heart,
Which truly feels no hate
Has progressed at the speed of light,
Through the binding will of fate.

No more your word 'pon my ears fall,
I must imagine now
At night it's you who receive my prayers,
This gets me through somehow.
Without the grip of hand in hand,
You guide your destiny
Meeting all who have gone before,
Please ask them to help me.

That morning when your calling came,
So strong, you could not resist
To change fates course would be a sin,
Only you knew how to assist.
But on and on this life must go,
The hourglass sheds its sand,
I re-live the fun we should have had,
Together, hand in hand.
